The Wing Readiness and Training Facility at Lackland Air Force Base has achieved LEED Silver Certification!

Knight Architects provided architectural and interior design services for Engineering Design Technologies on this Design/Build Project to provide a new home for the 433rd Airlift Wing. The design team worked with the users to ensure that both the exterior and interior of the building would be an appropriate representation of the 433rd.

The LEED strategy for the project included Exemplary Performance points for Maximizing Open Space and Green Power. These points along with a focus on sustainable design throughout the project helped the team achieve Silver Certification.

In an article released by the 433rd Airlift Wing, Col. Vangelisti, 433rd AW vice commander, is quoted saying, "The new building looks outstanding. The significant investment in this new Wing Headquarters' building and the modernization of several of our existing facilities stand as a testament to the viability and bright future of the Alamo Wing."
